God’s Special Elite Forces – Reverend Tom Amenkhienan

The second super session of day one of the IPPC was handled by the Esteemed Reverend Tom Amenkhienan. He spoke on a special topic – God’s Special Elite Forces. He defined special to mean being distinguished by special quality. Elite, according to him, refers to the best in class. He remainded his listeners that there are no sissies in God’s army. “God gives His highest battles to His strongest soldiers”. In his words, the Army bears the closest semblance to our work in the ministry. There’s an expectation. When you hear army, training and discipline comes to your mind.

Reverend Tom dived into an expose on how the military works. “The Armed Forces don’t accept excuses. Loyalty and commitment are standards. It’s a matter of life and death. You don’t own your time or choices anymore. They’re trained to keep winning and failure is not an option. Readiness and preparation to win all the time. The military across the world have elite forces that always get the job done. They don’t come back with excuses”.

“In God’s kingdom, Reverend Tom continued, there are examples. God gives assignments to people that always win. David is an example. Joshua had the assignment to take the people to the promised land. They defeated all obstacles. They stuck to the word of God. No man could stand Joshua all the days of his life. The person that brought shame was wiped out completely, with his family. Joshua didn’t want any defeat in his history”.

Reverend Tom also cited the example of Paul the Apostle. He had an assignment that had to be accomplished and he delivered. To him, sheer commitment can push the natural limits and the supernatural can go even further. “Our mandate and vision must be accomplished. Failure is not an option. Adversaries are not options. Oppositions are not factors, we are ahead. Our man of God is blazing the trail and we are following. We are on the winning side. Victory is our song. We are repositioning. Obstacles are stepping stones to our victories”.

He emphasized that we should be working in the coscousness that we are special in God’s special army and can’t lower our standards. We are exceptional. Recall that David also had special forces within his army. When David wanted water, by training, these three soldiers, went out of their way to get water for David. That’s what some people do today for our Man of God. They broke through at the risk of their lives and got David the water. David poured it out as an offering to the Lord.

“And of the Gadites there separated themselves unto David into the hold to the wilderness men of might, and men of war fit for the battle, that could handle shield and buckler, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as the roes upon the mountains; These were of the sons of Gad, captains of the host: one of the least was over an hundred, and the greatest over a thousand.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭12:8, 14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He charged the delegates that each person is an army of a hundred and a thousand men.

“And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord. Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭12:23, 33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

They were skillful, loyal and not double minded. These men could kill lions because David did the same and taught them. Joshua was so unafriad and sure of victory that he challenged an angel of the Lord. There shouldn’t be distractions. Paul encouraged Timothy to be like a good soldier.

Reading from Philippians 3:8-10 in message, Reverend Tom stated that Christ alone mattered to him. “I’m well on my way. I’ve got my eyes on the gold”. That’s. Necessity is laid upon me to preach this gospel, the mandate from God. It is all for the sake of the gospel. These are the things that set them apart.

In conclusion, Reverend Tom Amenkhienan cautioned the delegates not to sweat the little things. The navy seals have their ethos. It’s about uncompromising integrity. They are physically harder and mentally stronger than their enemies. The success of our mission depends on each one of us. Availability is critical to run with the mandate we’ve been given. We’re getting ready to be launched into 2019 from here.
